Edit March Speakers Meeting – March 5 – 7PM

Our monthly speakers meeting will be March 5th at 7PM. Please be sure to arrive early and get a seat!

Speakers will be Regina from the Alamo Club with 34 years of sobriety and Weslyn V.C.

Come for insight into sobriety and fellowship!

No mask requirement is now in effect

Due to the Jeffco Health department dropping the mandatory mask requirement, Edit will not require masks for meetings or other activities in the club. We do recognize that some people are still uncomfortable being in a situation without masks, so we ask that you be sensitive to other meeting attendees needs and wear a mask if asked by the member of a meeting.

Edit Board Annual Meeting

The Board of Directors o the Edit Club will hold their annual kickoff meeting on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1:30 PM at the club to welcome three newly elected members to the Board and to elect officers for the 2022 year.

Outgoing members of the Board will be honored for their service during the last year in face of the pandemic.

All members are invited to attend (some light refreshments will be provided) as all meetings of the Board of Directors are open to any member of the club.

January Speaker’s Meeting Postponed to February 2022

Due to a schedule conflict, Edit’s January Speaker’s Meeting Schedule for 8 January (was mistakenly identified as occurring on 9 Jan) has been postponed to February 5 (1st Saturday of the month).

Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Edit Speaker’s Meeting – Jan 9, 2022 at 7PM

Our monthly Speaker’s meeting is January 9th, 2022!! Who Knew?

We know the New Year should start off with a great meeting so we have two speakers:
Regina from Daily Reprieve with 32 years of Sobriety
Charles from Eye Openers of Edit with one year of Sobriety

Came and hear a voice of experience and a voice beginning the path to long sobriety.

Jefferson County Health requires masks and if you forget one, we can provide one at the door.

New Year’s Eve and New Years Meeting Marathon – See Details below!!

District 19 (AA) and the Noon Beginner’s Group (Edit – AA) are hosting a 12 Step 24-Hour Meeting Marathon to celebrate sobriety for everybody participating in 12-Step recovery programs relating to any addiction you or a loved one may be struggling with today. AA, CA, Al-anon or any of the groups meeting in District 19 (AA) or meeting at Edit are especially welcome for this event.  The event is at the Edit Club.

Beginning at Noon on New Year’s Eve, meetings will be held beginning on the hour and lasting for 45 minutes until noon on New Year’s. Volunteers are being requested to serve as chairpersons/leader’s according to the meeting format they are most comfortable with but emphasizing that all are welcome. After all, addiction has no respect for any person, creed, color, or any of the other differences we sometimes use to separate us from others suffering just like we are.

Signup sheets to chair a particular hour, envelopes to help defray the cost of finger food to nourish the body as well as the meeting to nourish the soul, will be available at the club during business hours until we begin with the first meeting on New Year’s Eve.

Please set aside an hour for your sobriety and celebrate it with us.

Tax Deduction 2021 – Charitable Organizations

As a reminder, money donations up to $300 for a Single IRS tax filer ($600 for Joint) are deductible from your income for 2021. Colorado offers a similar deduction (but eliminates the first $500) for more than the federal contribution.

This deduction is available even if you only claim the standard deduction and do not itemize. Unfortunately, 7th Tradition contributions (unless your group is incorporated as a non-profit) do not count.

Edit is always grateful for the support we receive through the Benefactor’s Club and general contributions. The tax deduction is available for contributions to any tax-exempt organization so supporting any organization like Edit that helps persons with an addiction issue is something we wish to encourage.

If you haven’t made such a contribution, they must be mailed or delivered before Jan 1,2022.

Edit Board Member Elections – 2021 – Vote Here!

Until December 19th, 2021, and in view of the renewed precautions against Covid-19, we are attempting ot offer several methods of voting for three new members of the Edit Board. We choose three each year so as to rotate the Board on a regular basis.

In addition to in person voting at the club on Dec 17 thru Dec 19th (we prefer you vote at the club so we can greet you and share some fellowship and food), call the club during meeting hours and we can bring a ballot out to you in the parking lot, going to the club during the noon hours before December 17, and voting via SurveyMonkey on the Web (link is below.)

Those volunteering for election this year are: Alex N., Dustin M., Joel Z., Maymie Mc., and Todd F. Pictures of each of them will be available at the club if you are not familiar with who they might be by name during voting hours on the 17th thru the 19th.

The link to vote on the Web is Edit Board 2021 Voting.

District 19 (AA) can use help on Service Committee’s

District 19 is beginning to recover from the Pandemic like most of AA and needs new volunteer’s to fill committee lead slots such as Public Information, Corrections, Bridge the Gap, etc. If you are interested in a service position, District 19 meets the third Thursday of each month at the Edit Club on Alameda.
